BVI Finance events

BVI Finance Limited, the largely government-funded private organisation charged with promoting the Virgin Islands financial services industry, is scheduled to host multiple events in Colombia in September. The first is scheduled to take place on Sept. 25 in Bogotá, Colombia’s capital.

The free event will include two panel discussions on succession planning for Latin America, risk management and insuring investments. BVIF will host a similarly themed event on Sept. 27 in Cartagena. The corporation is also a “platinum sponsor” for the 2017 STEP Latin America Conference, scheduled to take place from Sept. 28-29 in Cartagena. The conference is designed for trust and estate practitioners.

Reportable jurisdictions

The International Tax Authority has updated its list of reportable jurisdictions, adding both Croatia and Poland, according to Government Information Services. The list contains the jurisdictions that comply with the Common Reporting Standards. The Coordinating Body Secretariat of CRS spurred the update by releasing its fourth round of activations of bilateral exchange relationships under the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development’s Multilateral Competent Authority Agreement, according to GIS. The updated list applies to the reporting period between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, and can be found on government’s website. VI financial institutions are reminded to submit CRS information by Sept. 1 to satisfy international requirements, according to GIS.
