A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle as she tried to cross Waterfront Drive near the Road Town Ferry Dock at about 7:35 on Friday evening, police said.
The 38-year-old woman was transported “immediately” to Peebles Hospital for treatment, according to Police Information Officer Diane Drayton. By Monday she was in stable condition, recovering from injuries that were not life threatening, Ms. Drayton added. Police currently are investigating the accident and questioning witnesses, in part to determine whether the pedestrian was in the crosswalk area and thus had the right-of-way, according to the information officer.
