Minister of natural Resources and Labour Eileene Parsons said that the meetings, "...give our regional experts the opportunity to discuss environmental concerns and have the benefit of the ideas and suggestions of a diversity of environmental experts working in the region."

The Technical Advisory Committee Meeting will see representation from focal point officers in environmental matters throughout the region. Items being discussed at that meeting include environmental management and planning, education, training and awareness, and environmental disaster management.

During the Policy Committee meeting, ministers will discuss the status of recommendations from the previous policy meeting as well as the advisory committee's recommendations. Ministers will also be presented with a revision of the OECS Environment and Sustainable Development Unit's portfolio.
